The Frankie Howerd Community Hub
The early plans, partnerships and funding behind the community Hub.
In September 2021 the Trust described its plans for a Hub in Loxton, serving nearby villages with limited shops, pubs and public transport. An advisory committee brought together experience in law, accountancy, social work, education and fundraising.
A fundraising group was developing business links and a foundation members’ group. A partnership with the Wessex Learning Trust, then educating more than 2,600 students, reflected a shared interest in supporting all generations.
The report recorded grants of £20,000 from National Grid and £34,000 from Enovert Community Trust towards the first phase, alongside individual donations.
Based on the Trust’s original announcement.
