Local MP visits the Community Hub

Local MP for Weston-super-Mare, John Penrose, visited the Community Hub today and met three of the Trustees: Ian Shipton (l), Nigel Lincoln (2nd from l) and Phil Davies (r). John was amazed at what the Trust had achieved and acknowledged how important it will be in the future: "The Hub is a great way to remember a famous, local son [Frankie Howerd] and it's providing a valuable social heart for the Crook Peak villages which does not exist at the moment."

Thirty years ago today …

Thirty years ago today Frankie Howerd died and was buried in the Church of St Gregory in Weare, just a few miles away from his country home in Cross that he loved so much and where he lived for many years with his partner and manager, Dennis Heymer. His spirit and humour live on and the Frankie Howerd OBE Trust seeks to honour his memory and create a Community Hub in Loxton which will benefit local people in the area that he adored.
